Covid-19 in Morocco : 249 new infections and 5,301 active cases

249 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 486,223.

321 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 472,240.

6 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 8,682. 3 of these deaths were recorded in Casablanca-Settat, 1 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra, 1 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima and 1 in Marrakech-Safi.

The country has 5,301 active cases, including 372 in critical conditions. 19 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 145 infections: 116 in Casablanca, 9 in Nouaceur, 8 in El Jadida, 6 in Mediouna, 4 in Mohammedia and 2 in Benslimane. Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, with 22 cases: 8 in Salé, 5 in Rabat, 4 in Sidi Kacem, 3 in Skhirat-Témara and 2 in Kénitra.

The Oriental region follows with 20 cases: 17 in Oujda-Angad and 3 in Nador. 13 infections were recorded in Beni Mellal-Khénifra: 7 in Azilal, 5 in Beni Mellal and 1 in Fqih Bensaleh.

Marrakech-Safi recorded 13 cases: 6 in Marrakech, 3 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 3 in Safi and 1 in Essaouira. Souss-Massa confirmed 10 new infections: 4 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul, 3 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane and 3 in Tiznit.

7 cases were recorded in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (4 in Laâyoune, 1 in Es-Samara, 1 in Tarfaya and 1 in Boujdour), 6 in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla- Oued Ed-Dahab) and 6 in Guelmim-Oued Noun (5 in Sidi Ifni and 1 in Assa Zag).

Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima recorded 6 new infections (2 in Tanger-Assilah, 2 in Al Hoceima, 1 in Tétouan and 1 in M'Diq-Fnideq) while only one case was recorded in Zagora (Drâa -Tafilalet).
