Turkish club Galatasaray fired Moroccan international Younes Belhanda on Wednesday. A few days before, the footballer publicly criticized the leaders of the Turkish club.
His contract was «unilaterally terminated», according to a press release from Galatasary, which accuses the midfielder of having «damaged the image of the club and the reputations of the club's board members and constituted a persistent violation of the contract and club's internal disciplinary regulations».

Speaking on television on Sunday after a draw (2-2) for his team against Sivasspor, Younes Belhanda said Galatasaray should take care of the pitch rather than spending time on social media.
In 2019, the 31-year-old Moroccan international was notably booed, after being replaced in a match against Real Madrid. «In return, he insulted the fans», recalls L'Equipe .
Belhanda started his professional career in Montpellier (France) in 2009. He joined Galatasaray in 2017, after a season where he was loaned to OGC Nice by Dynamo Kiev.
