431 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 487,750. 4,169,133 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far, while 1,224,959 people have received the second.
681 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 474,938.
4 deaths were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths to 8,716. 3 of these deaths were recorded in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra and one in Drâa-Tafilalet.
The country has 4,527 active cases, including 398 in critical conditions. 21 of them are on ventilators.
As for the geographical distribution of new cases, Casablanca-Settat leads the way with 282 infections: 230 in Casablanca, 11 in Nouaceur, 11 in Mohammedia, 8 in Mediouna, 7 in Settat, 6 in Benslimane, 5 in El Jadida and 4 in Berrechid. Next comes the Oriental with 30 cases: 19 in Oujda-Angad, 7 in Nador, 3 in Jerada and 1 in Berkane.
Rabat-Salé-Kénitra follows with 29 cases: 11 in Salé, 10 in Skhirat-Témara, 5 in Rabat and 3 in Kénitra. In addition, 26 infections were identified in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima: 15 in Tanger-Assilah, 5 in Al Hoceima, 4 in Larache and 2 in M'Diq-Fnideq.
Marrakech-Safi has identified 16 new cases: 12 in Marrakech, 2 in Safi, 1 in Essaouira and 1 in the province of Al Haouz. Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra has confirmed, for its part, 11 new infections: 10 in Laâyoune and 1 in Es-Smara.
These are also 10 cases recorded in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab), 10 infections confirmed in Souss-Massa (7 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 2 in Chtouka-Ait). Baha and 1 in Taroudant) as well as 6 cases recorded in Fès-Meknes (3 in Fez, 2 in Meknes and 1 in Boulmane).
Finally, Drâa-Tafilalet confirmed 5 new infections (4 in Tinghir and 1 in Errachidia) against 3 cases in Tan Tan (Guelmim-Oued Noun) and 3 others in the region of Beni Mellal-Khénifra (2 in Fqih Bensaleh and 1 in Khouribga).
