Covid-19 in Morocco : 487 new infections and 4,252,723 people vaccinated as of Thursday

487 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 490,575. 4,252,723 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far, while 2,246,753 people have received the second.

574 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 477,879.

3 deaths were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths to 8,748. 2 of these deaths were recorded in Casablanca-Settat and 1 in Marrakech-Safi.

The country has 3,948 active cases, including 420 in critical conditions. 26 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 324 infections: 268 in Casablanca, 17 in Mohammedia, 11 in El Jadida, 10 in Nouaceur, 8 in Mediouna, 5 in Benslimane, 3 in Settat, 1 in Berrechid and 1 in Benslimane. Next comes Marrakech-Safi with 46 cases: 36 in Marrakech, 6 in Rhamna, 2 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 1 in Chichaoua and 1 in Safi.

The Oriental region follows with 33 cases: 28 in Oujda-Angad, 2 in Nador, 2 in Taourirt and 1 in Jerada. 26 infections were confirmed in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra: 10 in Salé, 7 in Skhirat-Témara, 5 in Rabat, 2 in Kénitra, 1 in Khemisset and 1 in Sidi Slimane.

Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima recorded 15 cases: 11 in Tanger-Assilah, 2 in Al Hoceima, 1 in Tetouan and 1 in Larache. Souss-Massa confirmed 13 new infections: 5 in Tiznit, 4 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul, 2 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane and 2 in Chtouka-Ait Baha.

6 cases were confirmed in Beni Mellal-Khénifra (2 in Khouribga, 2 in Beni Mellal, 1 in Fqih Bensaleh and 1 in Khénifra), 6 in Drâa-Tafilalet (4 in Errachidia and 2 in Tinghir) as well as in the city of Laâyoune (Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra).

5 cases were recorded in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab), 4 in Guelmim-Oued Noun (1 in Guelmim, 1 in Sidi Ifni, 1 in Assa Zag and 1 in Tan Tan) and 4 others in Fès-Meknes (2 in Fès and 2 in Sefrou).
