Covid-19 in Morocco : 444 new infections and 8 deaths on Saturday

444 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 491,463. 4,264,168 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far, while 2,423,380 people have received the second.

484 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 478,870.

8 deaths were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths to 8,763. 6 of these deaths were recorded in Casablanca-Settat, 1 in Marrakech-Safi and 1 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima.

The country has 3,830 active cases, including 406 in critical conditions. 25 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 313 infections: 246 in Casablanca, 27 in Nouaceur, 11 in El Jadida, 9 in Mohammedia, 7 in Berrechid, 7 in Mediouna, 5 in Settat and 1 in Sidi Bennour. Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 32 cases: 19 in Salé, 5 in Skhirat-Témara, 5 in Rabat, 2 in Khemisset and 1 in Kénitra.

The Oriental follows with 26 cases: 17 in Oujda-Angad, 3 in Jerada, 2 in Nador, 2 in Guercif and 2 in Driouch. In addition, 23 infections were identified in Marrakech-Safi: 11 in Marrakech, 10 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 1 in Safi and 1 in the province of Rhamna.

Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima has identified 13 new cases: 8 in Tanger-Assilah, 3 in Larache, 1 in M'Diq-Fnideq and 1 in Al Hoceima. Souss-Massa, for its part, confirmed 12 new infections: 4 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 4 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul and 4 in Tiznit.

There are also 11 cases recorded in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab), 6 confirmed infections in Drâa-Tafilalet (3 in Tinghir, 2 in Errachidia and 1 in Zagora) as well as 4 cases identified in the city of Laâyoune (Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra).

Finally, 2 new infections were identified in Khouribga (Beni Mellal-Khénifra) while two others were confirmed in Fès-Meknes (1 in Fès and 1 in Meknes). No new case was recorded between Friday and Saturday in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region.
