The cost of acquiring Covid-19 vaccines in Morocco amounted to 1.7 billion dirhams, as of the end of February 2021. This amount was paid by the New Coronavirus Pandemic Management Fund, said the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Administrative Reform.
In a recent note on the situation of treasury charges and resources, the department indicates that «special treasury accounts showed a surplus balance of MAD 9.6 billion, down by MAD 2.7 billion compared to February 2020». This decline can be explained by the purchase of vaccine doses.
The kingdom has purchased so far a set of 8.5 million doses. As of March 23, 2021, 4,265,196 people received their first vaccine shot while and 2,593,204 received the second.
