Covid-19 in Morocco : 439 new infections and 11 deaths on Wednesday

439 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 492,842. 4,284,060 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far, while 2,844,916 people have received the second.

507 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 480,607.

11 deaths were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths to 8,786. 6 of these deaths were recorded in Casablanca-Settat, 2 in the Oriental region, 2 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra and 1 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra.

The country has 3,449 active cases, including 418 in critical conditions. 21 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 324 infections: 257 in Casablanca, 23 in Berrechid, 17 in Nouaceur, 17 in Mohammedia, 8 in Settat, 1 in Mediouna and 1 in El Jadida. Then comes Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, with 20 cases: 11 in Tanger-Assilah, 4 in M'Diq-Fnideq, 3 in Tétouan, 1 in Larache and 1 in Chefchaouen.

Marrakech-Safi follows with 20 cases: 8 in Marrakech, 5 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 4 in Chichaoua and 3 in Essaouira.  19 infections were confirmed in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra: 5 in Rabat, 5 in Kénitra, 5 in Skhirat-Témara, 2 in Salé and 2 in Sidi Kacem.

The Oriental region recorded 17 cases: 11 in Oujda-Angad, 3 in Berkane, 1 in Nador, 1 in Jerada and 1 in Taourirt. Souss-Massa recorded 14 infections: 7 in Tiznit, 3 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 2 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul and 2 in Chtouka-Ait Baha.

9 cases were confirmed in Beni Mellal-Khénifra (6 in Khouribga, 2 in Beni Mellal and 1 in Fqih Bensaleh), 5 in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (4 in Laâyoune and 1 in Boujdour) and 5 others in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab).

Drâa-Tafilalet and Fès-Meknes each confirmed 3 new infections (2 in Midelt and 1 in Ouarzazate for the first and 2 in Fès and 1 in Taza for the second).
