On Sunday, 15 ancient bottles, carefully buried in the roof of a building located in eastern Tangier, were unearthed.
According to the Agency for the Promotion and Development of the Northern Regions, these glass bottles were found as part of the rehabilitation program of the ancient city of Tangier, which is carried out by the agency under the supervision of the Tangiers-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region.
The same source added that this group of large-sized glass bottles was carefully buried in the roof of one of the shops located on the wall surrounding Dar al-Dabbagh, highlighting that they were used to preserve oil, juices, pickles and fermenters.
The bottles belong to a container type called Dames Jeanne. Some of these bottles bear the name of the city of Barcelona and others the city of Vilella located in the Tarragona region.
