Moroccan singer Hajja Hamdaouia dies aged 91

Moroccan singer Hajja Hamdaouia has died aged 91 years old after her health condition worsened. She was rushed to the hospital on Thursday, 2m.ma reported.

The singer and songwriter known for singing Moroccan Chaabi and Aita had risen to fame in the 1950s.

Born in 1930 in Casablanca’s Derb Sultan district, Hajja Hamdaouia started singing from an early age and created her style of Moroccan pop music.
