According to a press release from the House of Representatives, the president of the Chinese National Assembly indicated that his country, which had supplied the Kingdom with a large quantity of doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines, will ensure that Morocco is supplied with 10 million vaccine doses during the months of April and May.

The President of the National People's Assembly of China, Li Zhanshu, hailed on Wednesday the leadership of King Mohammed VI and the tangible results obtained by Morocco in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

During a videoconference interview with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Habib El Malki, the Chinese official pointed out that the telephone interview between the Sovereign and the President of the Republic of China, Xi Jinping last August, breathed new life into the bilateral partnership, particularly in the fight against Covid-19.

During these talks, the two parties welcomed the new dynamic of Sino-Moroccan cooperation since the visit by King Mohammed VI in 2016 to China and the signing of a strategic partnership agreement. Bilateral cooperation has thus experienced a qualitative leap in the economic and commercial fields in particular, the statement added.

«The project to create a Sino-Moroccan vaccine manufacturing plant is of capital importance», underlined Habib El Malki, specifying that «these doses will be intended for the countries of the African continent, so as to enable them to overcome as fast as possible the negative fallout from the pandemic».
