The repatriation of about 200 Moroccans stranded in Ceuta has been postponed for more than a year, pending permission from the Moroccan authorities, El Faro de Melilla reported.
Quoting sources from the Ceuta government, the same source revealed that the Spanish authorities in Ceuta were planning to repatriate those stranded before the start of Ramadan, but the process has not yet taken place, due to the lack of any response from the Moroccan authorities.
The same source stated that since the border between Morocco and Ceuta was closed on March 13, 2020 due to the health crisis, Morocco has allowed six repatriation operations, three in May, one in September, and two in October, enabling a total of 653 people to return to Morocco.
