The reaction of Morocco to the hospitalization of Polisario leader Brahim Ghali in Spain was not well received by the Polisario. On Sunday, the movement’s «Ministry of Foreign Affairs» published a press release in which it accuses Morocco of «celebrating» the hospitalization of Brahim Ghali and «taking advantage» of it to «offend the Saharawi people and their national symbols, even during purely humanitarian matters».
In its press release, the separatist movement criticizes «the use of humanitarian issues in blackmail, as a constant political approach in Rabat's relations with its neighbors».
For the Front, the international community and the European Union are called upon to «put an end to the persistent impunity of the Moroccan regime».
Sunday, Morocco officially deplored «the attitude of Spain which welcomes on its territory the so-called Brahim Ghali, leader of the separatist militias of the 'polisario', prosecuted for serious war crimes and serious violations of human rights».
«Morocco expressed its disappointment regarding this act that is contrary to the spirit of partnership and good neighborliness and which concerns a fundamental question for the Moroccan people», it added.
On Saturday, the Moroccan foreign ministry summoned the Spanish ambassador to Rabat, Ricardo Díez-Hochleitner.
