Covid-19 in Morocco : 493 new infections and 10 deaths on Wednesday

493 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 510,465. 4,914,145 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far, while 4,245,154 people have received the second.

552 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 496,583.

10 deaths were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths to 9,015. 6 of these deaths were recorded in Casablanca-Settat, 2 in Marrakech-Safi, 1 in Souss-Massa and 1 in Laâyoune-Es Sakia El Hamra.

The country has 4,867 active cases, including 360 in critical conditions. 15 of them are on ventilators.

As for the geographic distribution of infections over the past 24 hours, Casablanca-Settat leads the way with 356 cases: 274 in Casablanca, 23 in Nouaceur, 16 in Settat, 16 in Settat, 14 in Berrechid, 12 in Mohammedia, 8 in El Jadida, 5 in Médiouna, 3 in Benslimane and 1 in Sidi Bennour. Then comes Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceïma with 24 cases: 16 in Tangier-Assilah, 4 in Tetouan, 2 in Ouezzane and 2 in Larache. Rabat-Salé-Kénitra follows with 22 cases: 7 in Salé, 6 in Rabat, 4 in Skhirat-Témara, 4 in Kénitra and 1 in Sidi Kacem.

Souss-Massa identified 21 cases: 9 in Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane, 9 in Inezgane-Aït Melloul, 2 in Taroudant and 1 in Tiznit. Laâyoune-Es Sakia El Hamra recorded 17 cases: 14 in Laâyoune, 2 in Boujdour and 1 in Tarfaya. The Oriental has identified 17 cases: 11 in Oujda-Angad, 3 in Jerada, 2 in Nador and 1 in Driouch.

Marrakech-Safi follows with 15 cases: 11 in Marrakech, 2 in El Kelâa des Sraghna, 1 in Chichaoua and 1 Safi. 7 infections were identified in Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab, all in Oued Ed-Dahab. For its part, Guelmim-Oued recorded 6 cases: 5 in Sidi Ifni and 1 in Guelmim.

Beni Mellal-Khénifra confirmed 5 cases: 3 in Azilal, 1 in Khouribga and 1 in Béni Mellal. Fès-Meknès identified 2 infections in Fez. And finally, Drâa-Tafilalet recorded 1 case in Tinghir.
