Around 100 Moroccan migrants managed to enter the city, including several women and children. According to sources from the government delegation in Ceuta, cited by EFE, the exact number of migrants has not yet been defined, but these Moroccans have crossed the sea breakwaters northwest of the city as well as the southern area of Tarajal.

According to Europa Press, the group includes two families with children, who entered Ceuta irregularly during the night and the early hours of Monday. Citing Spanish police sources, the agency referred to the «passivity» of the Moroccan security forces who had «done nothing to stop» these migrants.

«The entries began shortly after 2 am in the Benzú region, at the northern end of the 8.2 kilometer border perimeter that separates the autonomous city from the kingdom. About seventy men, women and children entered the city», the same source added.

Sources from the government delegation in Ceuta told Europa Press that the irregular arrivals on Monday were brought to the attention of the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs, which notified the Moroccan authorities.

The Civil Guard made sure to provide «humanitarian aid» to the Moroccans, while the Red Cross transferred a man suffering from mild hypothermia to hospital.
