Despite the measures put in place, 60 Moroccans manage to swim back to Ceuta

A group of 200 people, mostly Moroccan, tried Wednesday evening to cross to Ceuta by bypassing the Tarajal breakwater, either by jumping into the water or on foot. 60 of them managed to access the city, according to local media. Many of them were still in the water and are still trying to reach the coast of Ceuta. 

This time, the entries were not as numerous as those recorded on Monday and Tuesday. The Spanish Civil Guard and Moroccan authorities prevented tried to prevent the attempt. Minors and children were part of the said group.

Authorities in Ceuta have also set up a phone number for Moroccan families looking for their children who entered the city irregularly, without directly informing their parents. El Faro de Ceuta reports that the child protection service of the autonomous city is managing the difficult task of reuniting unaccompanied minors who have arrived en masse in Ceuta during the past three days with their families. 

For the record, 1,500 minors have managed to return to the city from Morocco.
