During the government council meeting on Thursday, May 20, Saadeddine El Othmani addressed the situation in Palestine. The head of government in fact welcomed the aid sent to Al Quds, Gaza and the West Bank following the instructions of King Mohammed VI.

He recalled that the sovereign had phoned the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, to remind him of the permanent commitment of the kingdom to Palestinians, indicates the presidency of the government in a statement.

In his statement, El Othmani ignored the crisis with Spain, marked by the exodus to Ceuta of more than 8,000 Moroccans, including around 2,000 minors. An operation that is seen damaging to the image of Morocco abroad.

This silence of the head government contrasts with his eagerness to condemn the secret reception of Brahim Ghali by Spain. During a virtual meeting with the regional and provincial secretaries of the PJD, he described his hospitalization under a false identity in Logroño as a «big scandal».
