The head of Israel’s liaison office in Morocco criticizes El Othmani for congratulating Hamas

The head of the Israeli liaison office in Rabat has reacted to the statement of the Moroccan head of government on Hamas movement. After a stay of more than a week in his country, officially for «family reasons», David Govrin accused Saadeddine El Othmani of having supported and congratulated «the two terrorist organizations, Hamas and Islamic Jihad».

«Anyone who supports Iran's allies is strengthening their regional influence. The strengthening of Iran, which sows destruction in the Arab countries and supports the Polisario Front, is it not in contradiction with the interests of Morocco and of moderate Arab countries», asked Govrin.

In a letter addressed to the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, Saadeddine El Othmani congratulated the «victory» of the Islamist movement in its last war against Israel.

«I am delighted, on my own behalf and on behalf of all members of the Justice and Development Party and its supporters, to extend to you and to all the brotherly Palestinian people the warmest congratulations», El Othmani wrote.
