Tindouf : The Polisario loses one of its founders to Covid-19

The Polisario Front announced on Wednesday in a press release the death of its «Minister of Equipment», following a Covid-19 contamination. In a statement, the separatist movement recalled that Sid Ahmed Batal was one of its founding members.

The movement, whose Secretary General Brahim Ghali has also tested positive and hospitalized in Spain since April, has declared a «national mourning» of a week from Thursday, May 27, 2021, the same source added.

Born in Tan-Tan, this former director of military security for the Polisario, in the 1980s, held several positions of within the separatist movement.
