Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has reportedly entrusted his Foreign Affairs Minister, José Manuel Albares, with the mission of preparing for an official visit to Morocco, Spanish media writes. «Negotiations are underway (…) Rabat expects Pedro Sanchez to bring something new on top of what was agreed upon during his last trip in February».
Sanchez' potential trip to Morocco is facing yet another obstacle : Morocco has not yet assured the head of the Spanish government that he will be received by King Mohammed VI, diplomatic sources told OK Diario.
Pedro Sanchez could invite King Felipe VI to accompany him to Morocco. Moreover, the phone call Sanchez had, last week, with his Moroccan counterpart was part of the efforts undertaken by the Spanish Prime Minister to «unblock» the situation.
For the record, Pedro Sanchez was not received by King Mohammed VI during the Morocco-Spain high-level meeting, organized in February in Rabat.
