British Airways, the flag carrier airline of the United Kingdom, has added Agadir to its London Gatwick route network, Simple Flying reported on Wednesday.

The new route, which will be launched on March 31, 2024, is going to be operated by British Airways’ subsidiary BA Euroflyer. The latter will secure a four-times weekly flight to the city's Agadir Al-Massira International Airport.

This announcement makes Agadir the second Moroccan destination on British Airways’ route map. It also marks the return of the destination after over a decade of absence.

«Agadir is a coastal destination that enjoys 300 days of sunshine per year, so we know it will see strong demand from our leisure customers and particularly those seeking holiday packages. It offers beaches, golf courses and water sports alongside the opportunity to experience cultural landmarks, such as Agadir Kasbah», Tom Stoddart, CEO of BA Euroflyer, said.

BA Euroflyer will operate the new destination with an Airbus A320-200, offering two cabin options : business class and economy.
