The United Nations General Assembly voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday a resolution on «the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination». 172 states voted in favor of the resolution, 10 abstained and 4 opposed it, including the United States and Israel.

Morocco voted in favor of the draft resolution. All member states of the Arab League adopted the same position. France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom also supported the text, which reaffirms the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the creation of their own state.

The Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, called last week in Rabat, at the end of his meeting with his Spanish counterpart, Jose Manuel Albares, «the international community to assume the responsibility of launching a serious political process leading to the implementation of a two-state solution, within the 1967 borders with Al-Quds East as its capital».
