Nearly 2.9 million requests were submitted to the direct social assistance program via the portal www.asd.ma for government allocation.
At the end of its weekly Council, held Wednesday, the government announced that more than 64% of these monthly funds requests were for children in school and out of school, while more than 34% are for government subsidies.
Furthermore, 273 of these requests were for birth allowances, government spokesperson Mustapha Baïtas said during a press briefing held after the Council.
As for direct social assistance, the head of government Aziz Akhannouch assured that families who submitted their requests after December 10 would receive funds for the months of December and January at the end of the current month. He also assured that the opportunity to submit applications remains open to eligible households.
The first payments of the direct social assistance program were made on December 28, 2023, helping more than 1.4 million families, with a total budget of more than 524 million dirhams, as part of a government initiative responding to a royal appeal.
