Morocco has joined the Integrated Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development, which brings together the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan and Bahrain.
A memorandum of understanding in this regard was signed, on January 11, 2024, in Manama, by the members of the coalition during the body’s fourth high-level ministerial meeting, attended by the Ministers of Industry of the four countries, as well as Ryad Mezzour, Moroccan Minister of Industry and Commerce.
«The Industrial Partnership, launched in Abu Dhabi in May 2022, constitutes a framework for cooperation between member countries aimed at supporting sustainable economic development, and the creation of more investment opportunities in the region», indicates the Ministry of Industry in a press release.
Speaking on Thursday, Ryad Mezzour stressed that Morocco’s accession represents «an opportunity to strengthen the integration of our industries and develop more projects that generate growth and employment for our young people».
He welcomed that this «accession constitutes a qualitative step in the process of growth and regional industrial integration, considering the economic assets of the Kingdom and its achievements in industry, particularly in the automobile sectors, renewable energies, agro-industry, aeronautics, textiles, pharmaceuticals, electrical and electronic industries, phosphate and mining».
All five members of the Arab industrial coalition have diplomatic relations with Israel.
