Four Moroccan cities have been featured in the TripAdvisor Top Destinations in the World list. Marrakech is listed as one of the best destinations for the year 2024. The city is ranked eighth out of the twenty-five most popular cities, ahead of Istanbul (12th), Barcelona (14th), Madrid (20th) and New York (25th) .
According to the platform, «The 'Red City' of Marrakesh is a magical place, brimming with markets, gardens, palaces, and mosques. Exploring the intimate courtyards and snaking alleyways of the historic Medina can easily eat up a day. Find inner peace at the serene Jardin Majorelle or take in the beauty of one of the city’s historic mosques».
Dubai is in first place for the third year in a row, ahead of Bali (Indonesia) and London (England).
Fez is also ranked fourth among the best cultural destinations in 2024, behind Havana (Cuba), Cuzco (Peru) and Agra (India). «This walled city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will transport you back to medieval times», says TripAdvisor.
The palm of gold for nature destination in Morocco goes to Merzouga, ranked 14th out of 25 sites around the world, thanks to its sunsets and dunes. This small village «gives visitors a taste of desert life, and treks to nearby villages will reward you with African revelry, including music and dance. Ask your hotel to arrange a guided tour», wrote the platform.
Finally, Casablanca is the 23rd of the 25 Best destinations in the world for this year 2024. Casablanca is a «large, modern city, but the former French colonial post still allows myriad movie moments for those who want to revisit love in the medina and Old City», TripAdvisor said.
TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Destinations analyzes reviews submitted over the past 12 months by its hundreds of millions of users each year.
