Stellantis eyeing Morocco for investments, Italian senator claims

Multinational auto giant Stellantis, born from the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Group, is reportedly considering shifting investments to Morocco, according to Italian media reports.

Italian Senator Carlo Calenda claims he possesses a letter sent by Stellantis to Italian suppliers touting the potential of relocating investments to Morocco.

The former minister told newspaper Messaggero that along with the letter, Stellantis also enclosed a Moroccan government brochure showcasing the country's automotive industry advantages.

The letter reportedly invites Italian suppliers to a two-day meeting in a Rabat hotel next November, prompting speculation in Italian media that lower production costs and salaries in Morocco are driving the potential shift.
