The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has suspended Morocco coach Walid Regragui for four matches, with two matches being deferred. This announcement was made on the Arryadia TV channel via the X platform.

Moroccan state media reports that the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is determined to appeal the decision. The suspension stems from incidents following the Morocco vs. DR Congo match on January 21st. CAF initially announced an investigation into the matter.

«The African Football Confederation has opened an investigation against the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA). CAF will not make any further comments on this matter until the investigation is completed», the pan-African football body stated in a press release.

It's noteworthy that during the Afcon 2023, held currently in Cote d’Ivoire, CAF has already suspended former Tanzanian coach Adel Amrouche for eight matches.
