Belgian Chief of Defense visits Morocco, meets trainees

Yesterday, Admiral Michel Hofman, Chief of Defense Staff of Belgium, visited the city of Errachidia in Morocco. There, he met with students from the Belgian Royal Military School who are currently undergoing training in Morocco. This training program is «thanks to the excellent cooperation» between the two kingdoms, according to the Belgian embassy in Morocco.

Prior to his visit to Errachidia, Admiral Hofman met with the Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Region. A statement from the General Command of the Royal Armed Forces confirmed that the discussions focused on strengthening military cooperation between the two nations.

Military relations between Morocco and Belgium are founded on a cooperation agreement signed in 1992 and a technical understanding established in 1998.

The relationship encompasses various areas, including joint training exercises and programs for personnel from both armies, sharing knowledge and best practices in military strategy, tactics, and technology and collaboration on research and preservation of shared military history.
