On February 10, 2024, the Belgian federal police confirmed the arrest of Mohamed Aissa by Moroccan authorities on January 27th. Aissa, who was convicted in absentia for a violent robbery and murder in Brussels in 2011, was serving a life sentence and featured on Belgium's «Most Wanted» list.

The federal police detailed the crime, which occurred on May 20, 2011, at an apartment on rue de la Montagne. During the robbery, the victim died from injuries. While one perpetrator was arrested, Aissa managed to escape. He was sentenced to life in absentia on September 16, 2014, by the Brussels Assize Court. Additionally, he is suspected of another theft committed in Morocco.

Currently, Aissa is detained in Tangier and awaits a March 1st court appearance. «The judge will decide the next steps of the legal process, considering the life sentence already imposed in Belgium», the police stated.
