A picture of King Mohammed VI has been circulating on social media in recent days, with some claiming it's an official image released by the Royal Palace. The photo, showing the King in a light brown suit, has even been picked up by some news outlets.
However, investigations reveal that the image is not official and has been manipulated using artificial intelligence. Agence France-Presse (AFP) contacted the photo's creator, who confirmed editing the image with editing software and AI «as an expression of my love for the king» and denied its authenticity.
After the photo's widespread circulation, the creator clarified on their Instagram: «This photo is not as recent as some pages are suggesting. Additionally, I do not authorize any newspaper or magazine to publish it as an exclusive or new photo. It's a modification based on my own creativity due to my work in this field».
