The Mauritanian Minister of Equipment, Mohamed Aly Ould Sidi Mohamed, paid a visit to Morocco and met with his counterpart, Nizar Baraka, in Rabat yesterday.

Their discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in infrastructure development, technical expertise exchange, and expanding the partnership between the Moroccan Public Testing and Studies Laboratory (LPEE) and the Mauritanian National Public Works Laboratory (LNTP), according to MAP news agency.

The officials also explored a roadmap for collaboration in infrastructure and port development. Minister Ould Sidi Mohamed discussed with Minister Baraka the potential for a technical study aimed at improving the Nouakchott-Nouadhibou road, as well as joint participation in building structures in Nouakchott to enhance traffic flow within the capital.

For context, it's worth noting that thirteen conventions and memorandums of understanding were signed by Morocco and Mauritania during the eighth session of their joint high commission, held in Rabat in March 2022.
