Morocco's building materials specialist Damane Gypsum announced the imminent opening of their first national gypsum board production unit. Scheduled to launch within the next two weeks, the factory will be located in Sidi Tiji, Safi Province, the company said in a press release on Thursday.

The primary target markets for the new factory are domestic and African, aiming to address the regional demand for gypsum boards. This move signals Damane Gypsum's commitment to increasing accessibility for these materials.

The new facility is expected to generate significant employment opportunities, with over 150 direct and 300 indirect jobs anticipated. This aligns with the company's existing presence, employing over 1,000 people across its various quarries and industrial units nationwide.
