The bodies of three Moroccan workers killed in the tragic collapse of a new Esselunga supermarket in Florence, Italy, were repatriated this week to Morocco, Italian media reported on Tuesday.
The workers Bouzekri Rachimi, a 56-year-old, Mohamed El Farhane, 24, and Taoufik Haidar, 43, were killed when a beam slipped and fell on them while they were working on the construction site earlier in February. With three others injured, the human cost of the collapse stands at five fatalities.
The collapse of the Esselunga supermarket has sparked outrage in Italy, with many calling for tougher safety regulations. The families of the victims have called for justice and compensation.
