The Court of Auditors announced on Thursday that 18 political parties in Morocco have yet to return a total of nearly 26.31 million dirhams in government support.

According to the 2022 audit report, the outstanding sum comprises 839,813 dirhams in «undue sums» and 7.58 dirhams in «unused sums» used for unintended purposes. Additionally, the report highlighted 17.9 million dirhams in expenses without invoices.

However, the report also states that, by the report's publication date, political parties had returned 37.48 million dirhams to the Public Treasury. This amount pertains to both state contributions for financing electoral campaigns and covering management expenses.

Furthermore, 29 of the 34 registered political parties have submitted their annual accounts. Of these, 26 utilized the Court of Auditors' digital platform, while 21 parties met the deadline for submission. However, five parties remain delinquent in submitting their accounts.
