Morocco’s Meteor Airlines to bring Amazigh rock to the Texas South by Southwest music festival

The Moroccan rock band Meteor Airlines will perform in Austin, Texas (United States) at the South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival from March 11 to 16, 2024, representing Morocco.

As part of their performances, Meteor Airlines will headline the official WOMEX showcase at SXSW on March 14 at the Flamingo Cantina. WOMEX, recognized for promoting emerging artists internationally, partners annually with SXSW to facilitate intercultural exchanges and collaboration among music professionals.

Meteor Airlines' music indeed reflects the eclectic journey of its members, «from the deep southeastern Atlas Mountains of Morocco to the dynamic landscape of the South by Southwest music festival», reads a press release by the music band.

Their participation promises to be a highlight, offering SXSW audiences an immersive musical experience.

Since 2016, Meteor Airlines have captivated audiences with their distinctive blend of Amazigh rock, a sound inspired by Moroccan ancestral heritage, culture, history, and global themes.
