Spanish actress Hiba Abouk has finally spoken out about her separation from Moroccan footballer Achraf Hakimi, a year after the couple officially announced their split.
In an episode of Spanish podcast A Solas con Vicky Martín Berrocal, the mother of two said she had a difficult year, in which she faced many changes, both positive and negative.
She acknowledged the relationship with Hakimi is over and her priority is their children. Abouk also addressed the rape accusations against her ex-husband, stating, «After much reflection, the father of my children and I made the decision to end our relationship...long before the events that occurred...» Needing time to process the situation, she emphasized her support for victims.
Leaving her husband and starting over has been tough, both emotionally and physically. Abouk has returned to acting and moved back to Madrid.
Abouk spoke about the reasons behind the breakup, mentioning disloyalty as a dealbreaker. «Disloyalty kills love», she said, while admitting to forgiving infidelity in the past, she emphasized the difficulty of forgiving in this situation.
For the record, Abouk and Hakimi tied the knot in 2020. The two announced their split up last year, amid attempted rape accusations against the footballer. Hakimi, in response, denied all accusations, maintaining his innocence.
