They are heelless leather slippers worn by men all over Morocco. These traditional Moroccan mules, locally known as Belgha, are now being sold by luxury fashion house Balenciaga. But instead of a few hundred dirhams, the pair of shoes cost hundreds of dollars on Balenciaga's official online boutique.

Balenciaga is selling the Moroccan-inspired mules for 995 dollars. «Flat Mule in black smooth lambskin is in several looks of Balenciaga Summer 24 Collection», reads a description of the product online.

The luxury retailer does not mention the striking resemblance the slippers bear to the Moroccan footwear. It just indicates that the pair of shoes is made in Italy, has foldable heel counter, anti-slip band and a worn-out effect. The slippers come in a blue denim style for the same price.
