Moroccan long-distance runner Zouhair Talbi secured second place at the New York City half marathon held Sunday, March 17. Speaking following the race, the US-based athlete said he «pushed until the end». «I tried to stay strong until the end», he told reporters. He beat his personal best with a time of 1:00 and 41 seconds.
The 13.1-mile half marathon started in Brooklyn, making its way through Manhattan Bridge and FDR Drive, organizers said. Runners also run through Times Square and finished in Central Park.
Talbi said he is currently training for the Boston Marathon, scheduled for April 15 in greater Boston. «I feel more confident for Boston next month», Talbi said, referring to Sunday’s win.
During the 2023 edition of the New York half marathon, Talbi finished third. The 28-year-old runner athlete came fifth at the last year’s edition of the Boston marathon.
