The Casablanca Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced, Tuesday, Hit Radio host Mohamed Bousfiha, nicknamed «Momo», to four months in prison.

According to media sources, the court also handed prison sentences to the two other defendants involved in the case. The first was sentenced to five months in prison and the second defendant to three months in prison.

The three defendants were charged with «staging a robbery, spreading misinformation that affects the sense of security of citizens, and insulting an organized body by making false statements».

While Momo was released on a bail of 100,000 dirhams, the other defendants are being held in custody. The court also dismissed the civil claims filed by Hit Radio.

For the record, investigations, conducted in collaboration with Territorial Surveillance services, revealed the caller used a false identity, fabricated a theft with the help of an accomplice, never visited any security authority premises, and made the call for personal gain and to boost the radio station's audience.
