The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) lodged a complaint with the FIFA Ethics Committee on Thursday against the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Algerian media reported. The complaint stems from the cancelled match between Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RSB) and Union Sportive de la Medina d'Alger (USMA).
The FAF disagrees with CAF's decision on Wednesday to award RSB a 3-0 victory in the cancelled match. The Algerian football body believes this decision violates CAF's own regulations. To strengthen their case, FAF President Walid Sadi reportedly traveled to Lausanne, Switzerland, with a team of five lawyers.
Prior to its ruling, CAF had ordered Algerian authorities to hand over the RSB jerseys, which depict the full map of Morocco. This was after CAF rejected two appeals filed by the FAF.
