The Algerian army has reportedly killed three Saharawi gold miners from the Tindouf camps, the Forum de Soutien aux Autonomistes de Tindouf (FORSATIN) reports.
According to FORSATIN, a military patrol spotted the gold miners' vehicle near the «Dakhla camp» located on Algerian territory. A chase ensued, then shots were fired.
One of the victims was killed on the spot, while the other two succumbed to their wounds. FORSATIN provided the tribal affiliation of the three gold miners, but Polisario media has remained silent on the incident.
This is not the first such event. In October 2020, FORSATIN reported that two Saharawi gold miners were killed in a fire while digging in a seven-meter-deep well. In 2014, an Algerian army patrol reportedly killed Saharawi traders, with no official response from the Polisario.
