SDX Energy Inc., a MENA-focused exploration and production company, announced receiving the necessary government approvals to begin gas production.
In a statement, the company said, Monday, that «production of gas has commenced» at the KSR-21 well, located in Morocco's Gharb region near Kenitra. This follows SDX's earlier announcement in January regarding the successful drilling and testing of the KSR-21 well in Q4 2023.
At that time, SDX reported that the well «has now been tied into existing infrastructure» and would begin production «as soon as the expected government approvals are received, which are envisaged shortly»
For the record, SDX holds a 75% operated working interest across its Moroccan portfolio, which includes exploration permits and exploitation concessions containing producing wells. The company sells the produced gas to eight customers at contracted prices of between US$10-US$12/Mcf.
