The Progress and Socialism Party (PPS) group at the House of Representatives has summoned the Minister Delegate for the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, «for an urgent meeting at the Parliament to discuss the suspension of direct aid to some families».
The group explained that «the government decided in April 2024 to suspend direct financial social assistance to many beneficiary families in our country. Some of these families received a text message informing them of the suspension, even though they had received aid for three consecutive months».
The PPS added that «this issue arises in a particular context causing concern among the mentioned families».
They emphasized the «necessity and urgency to convene a meeting so that people's representatives can be informed and discuss with the government, especially the relevant ministerial sector, all issues and developments related to this matter. This is especially important due to a lack of explanation provided to most affected families. Our main concern is to meet the vital and urgent expectations of citizens, to improve what can be improved, and to fix what needs to be fixed».
