The University of Rabat (UIR) is set to host a robotics competition on May 9th and 10th, organized by its School of Aerospace and Automative Engineering. Held under the theme «Innovate and Automate», the competition will see engineering students from UIR and other moroccan schools clash in a series of robotics challenges, reads a press release sent Wednesday to Yabiladi.

These aspiring engineers will put their robot programming and control skills to the test across three main challenges.

The first is the Gripper Challenge in which Teams will design and build robots capable of precisely grasping and moving objects within a designated timeframe. Success hinges on the robots' ability to lift and deposit objects accurately in predetermined locations.

The second is the Follower Line Challenge which will have participants program autonomous cars to precisely follow a designated line on the ground. This challenge requires crafting sophisticated algorithms for the robots to navigate with precision, avoiding obstacles and staying on track.

Finally, through the Drone Challenge teams will take control of drones, navigating them through a course filled with obstacles. Mastering drone stabilization, precise navigation, and efficient resource management will be key to overcoming these hurdles.

This competition presents a valuable opportunity for these young talents to delve deeper into the field of robotics and apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting. It fosters an environment where creative minds come together to collaborate and push the boundaries of engineering.

The competition also embodies the commitment to academic excellence championed by Rabat University in its higher education programs. UIR's diverse range of courses, respected nationally and internationally, allows students to refine their academic careers according to their unique skills, aspirations, and the demands of the job market.
