Malian army attends African Military Education Forum in Morocco

From May 15 to 19, the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) are organizing the first edition of the Forum of Directors of African Military Schools. Yesterday, a series of presentations and lectures were given at the Collège Royal de l'Enseignement Militaire Supérieur, in Kenitra, on the prospects for cooperation in the field of higher military education. Officers from Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon, Nigeria, Mauritania, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and Mali were present.

The participation of Mali further underscores the recent warming of relations between Rabat and Bamako. This follows the endorsement by Mali's transitional government on December 23 in Marrakech of the initiative launched by King Mohammed VI to provide Sahelian countries with access to the Atlantic Ocean.

The forum coincides with the commemoration, on May 14, of the 68th anniversary of the creation of the FAR. The event also comes as Morocco prepares to host the «African Lion 2024» military exercise, from May 20 to 31, with the participation of African countries.
