As part of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development's (BMZ) «Decent Jobs for a Just Transition» initiative, an information meeting was held in Rabat on Thursday, May 16. Representatives from the German Embassy, BMZ, GIZ, and KfW Development Bank attended.
During the meeting, the Investment Facility for Employment (IFE) and the Partnership for Employment Program (PPE II) launched their respective calls for proposals: IFE's 2nd call for projects in Morocco and PPE II's «Challenge Fund 2024».
The IFE offers co-financing grants ranging from 850,000 to 6 million euros for public or private projects selected through a competitive process. These projects must generate sustainable jobs in the private sector while ensuring access to the social security system. Subsidies represent between 25% and 90% of the total investment volume.
The PPE II program's «Challenge Fund 2024» aims to provide financial support for job-creating projects, with an emphasis on environmental sustainability, women's employment, and digitalization. Selected companies can benefit from co-financing of up to 150,000 euros, covering up to 70% of their investment project budget. Additionally, these projects will receive operational support throughout their implementation.
