International Moroccan footballers are making Morocco proud with victories across European, Asian and African championships.

On Saturday, Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat emerged victorious with his club Manchester United in the Football Association Challenge Cup, also known as the FA Cup, a prestigious knockout competition in English football.

The Red Devils triumphed at Wembley Stadium, scoring 2-1 after half an hour of play against their city rivals, Man City. Goals were signed by Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Thanks to a tremendous defensive effort, Amrabat's teammates were able to secure the lead. Jeremy Duko pulled one back for City at the end (2-1, 87th minute), but it wasn't enough to snatch victory from United.

Also in Europe, Moroccan attacking midfielder Amine Adli, who also represents the national team, lifted the 2023-24 DF-Pokal title with German club Bayer Leverkusen. This win grants them automatic qualification for the group stage of the 2024–25 UEFA Europa League.

Born in France to Moroccan parents, 24-year-old Amine Adli joined Bayer Leverkusen in August 2021 on a five-year contract. He received his first call-up to the Atlas Lions in August 2023.

In France, fellow Atlas Lion Achraf Hakimi won the Coupe de France title with his club Paris Saint Germain (PSG) on Saturday. Overcoming Lyon 2-1, PSG secured their 15th Coupe de France trophy.

PSG's goals came from Ousmane Dembele and Fabian Ruiz in the 22nd and 34th minute respectively. Lyon's only response came from Jake O'Brien in the 55th minute.

Hakimi has been a key player at right-back for Ligue 1 club PSG since July 2021.

Moving to Asia, Moroccan international Soufiane Rahimi led his team Al Ain FC to AFC Champions League glory, defeating Yokohama Marinos FC of Japan 5-1 in the second leg of the final on Saturday evening at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.

Rahimi shone throughout the match, scoring the opening goal for Al Ain in the eighth minute. He was fouled in the box later, leading to a successful penalty kick by Paraguayan Alejandro Romero in the 34th minute.

Rahimi, the league's top scorer with 13 goals, continued his impressive performance in the second half, adding another goal for his team in the 67th minute. The Togolese forward, Kodjo Laba, sealed the win with two goals in stoppage time.

Yokohama Marinos' only goal came from Brazilian player Yan Mateus in the 40th minute.

Rahimi, formerly of Raja CA, joined the Emirati club Al Ain in 2021.

In Africa, Moroccan footballer Reda Slim emerged champion with his Egyptian team Al-Ahly, marking their 12th African title.

Al Ahly defeated Tunisia's Esperance Sportive de Tunis 1-0 at the Cairo International Stadium on Saturday evening.

The only goal came from an unfortunate own goal by Roger Aholou in the 4th minute, after a header by Ramy Moustafa deflected off him.

Casablanca-born Reda Slim played for FAR Rabat before joining Al Ahly in 2023.
