The National Rally of Independents (RNI) strongly criticizes the attacks from the opposition party Progress and Socialism (PPS) regarding the government's mid-term review, presented to Parliament by Aziz Akhannouch.

Senior RNI officials responded to the criticisms from PPS members on Saturday, May 25, during a party meeting in Agadir led by Akhannouch. House Speaker Rachid Talbi Alami criticized the PPS's performance in its previous government roles, specifically citing delays in water-related projects and problems left behind by former PPS ministers of Housing and Health.

Less directly, Mohamed Aujar, a member of the RNI political bureau and former Minister of Justice, noted that some opposition parties are struggling to find their footing.

In an open letter addressed to Aziz Akhannouch on May 21, the second such letter since March 30, 2023, the PPS accused the government of condescension by claiming to have met all expectations of Moroccans. The PPS believes the government's message is disconnected from reality and disregards the concerns and struggles of most Moroccans.

The RNI had previously responded to the PPS's first open letter to the head of government.
