The Customs and Indirect Tax Administration (ADII) announced new facilitation measures for Moroccans living (MREs) abroad as part of the Marhaba 2024 operation. These measures, implemented annually under royal directives, aim to improve the reception process for MREs, according to an ADII circular dated June 1, 2024.
Good news for MREs with cars on Temporary Admission (TA): The validity period, typically expiring on December 1st, has been extended by six months at no additional cost. This applies to TAs expiring before June 1st, 2024, with a penalty applicable for expired authorizations. Applications for further extensions can be submitted to ADII from December 1st along with required documents.
Vehicles accompanied by a valid Provisional Registration Certificate (CPI) are now eligible for provisional import, provided the CPI is registered under the TA holder's name.
MREs can now transfer TA authorizations to non-residents in Morocco. This simplified process eliminates residency restrictions for both parties involved.
Existing regulations regarding temporary admission of personal belongings remain in effect. MREs can bring in their usual personal effects, including jewelry, musical instruments, laptops, and sports equipment, without detailed declarations. However, failure to return these items upon departure will result in duties and taxes being levied.
