Polisario delegation visits Mauritania ahead of presidential elections

On June 29, Mauritanians will vote in new presidential elections. In the run-up to these elections, the Polisario leader sent a delegation to Nouakchott, led by his advisor Salek Beiba.

In the Mauritanian capital, Brahim Ghali's envoy held a series of meetings with leaders of political parties and independent candidates in the upcoming presidential elections, the Polisario news agency SPS reported.

Beiba held talks with the president of the Insaf party (Equality, the formation founded in 2022 by the current head of state Mohamed Cheikh Ould El Ghazouani), Mohamed Melainine Ould Eyih; the president of the National Rally for Reform and Development (Islamist); the President of the Forces du Progrès (left), Mohamed Ould Maouloud; the President of the Parti de l'Union et du Changement, Saleh Ould Hanena; the President of the Parti Rafah (Prosperity), Mohamed Ould Vall; and the President of the Parti Al Hiwar (Dialogue), Mme Falla Ment Miti.

The Polisario delegation also met with independent candidates, including Mohamed El Amin El Mortaji and MP and abolitionist Biram Dah Abeid.
