The United Arab Emirates' Etihad Airways and Morocco's national carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), signed a new agreement on Monday to improve travel for their customers, according to a press release.
The partnership aims to expand cooperation in several areas, including: Increased flight options, enhanced frequent flyer programs, and streamlined travel experience.
The two flag carriers will explore adding codeshare routes on domestic flights within Morocco and Africa. They will also work together to improve benefits for frequent flyers and collaborate on ground handling, maintenance, and engineering to create a smoother travel experience.
This agreement strengthens existing connections between the airlines' networks. Passengers can now book and check baggage for their entire trip on a single ticket, even if they fly on both airlines.
«This agreement covers a wide range of activities, from exploring the expansion of codeshare agreements to cover more domestic routes in Morocco and Africa, to considering the development of existing cooperation in loyalty programs, as well as exploring collaborations in ground handling, maintenance, and engineering», said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways.
